Recognition Process
To become recognized, course providers must submit applications that attest they meet and will meet all Course and Course Provider Requirements.
RECA's Board of Directors, in consultation with the relevant RECA Industry Council(s), will oversee the recognition of courses and course providers.
Course providers that satisfy all Course and Course Provider Requirements will be recognized by RECA as approved third-party providers for pre-licensing education.
Requirements by Course Format
- eLearning Courses
- Syllabus, course outline, and alignment document demonstrating the learning outcomes prescribed by the Industry Councils
- Access to the eLearning course, eBook, or eManual
- Course Provider's Instruction Code of Conduct
- Physical or Virtual Classroom Courses
- Syllabus, course outline, and alignment document demonstrating the learning outcomes prescribed by the Industry Councils
- Instructor materials (e.g., lesson plans, presentations, and supporting resources)
- Access or copies of classroom assessments, course manuals, and educational materials provided to learners
- Course Provider's Instructor Code of Conduct
- Combination Courses (eLearning + Classroom Components)
- Syllabus, course outline, and alignment document demonstrating the learning outcomes prescribed by the Industry Councils
- Instructor materials (lesson plans, presentations)
- Access or copies of course manuals, assessments, and learner materials, including eBook/eManual
- Course Provider's Instructor Code of Conduct
- Access to eLearning course
Course Provider Application
Course Providers must submit:
- Single-entity application - for organizations offering courses independently
- Multiple-entity application - for organizations collaborating to develop or deliver courses
Applications are approved based on the provider's attestation (a legal declaration) that all requirements are met. Course Providers offering physical, virtual, or combination courses must also submit their Instructor Code of Conduct.
Course Application
After recognition, Course Providers must submit a course application form for each course they wish to offer.
- Approval is based on the provider's attestation and supporting materials, including a competency and learning outcome alignment document linking course content to the applicable competency profile.
- Course materials must follow the format specified by the Industry Councils and RECA's Board of Directors.
- Course Providers must retain all course-related materials and submit them to RECA if requested.
All materials submitted for course or course provider recognition are kept confidential by RECA.
